People Keep Thinking Chonky Cat Is Pregnant Since He’s So Chubby
This is Fat Fred, a chubby cat that spends his days lazing at the Louisiana-based Furry Friends Animal Hospital.
However, Fred’s presence has created some uncertainty.

Fred, who weighed a staggering 29 pounds at the time, was adopted from a local animal shelter by veterinarian Marcia Riedel. Riedel quickly realized, however, that the cat’s personality is larger than his girth.
Riedel told The Dodo, “I discovered that he likes to walk about the clinic as the official greeter rather than reside at my house with its lack of regular exposure to fans.” “Fat Fred feels that humans are supposed to feed him all of the time.”
Perhaps the cat’s greatest skill is convincing others that he’s eating for more than himself.

Fat Fred likes to let it all hang out in the clinic’s front window, attracting the attention of passersby. He’s amassed quite a fan base, in fact, but his flabby frame often gives people the wrong impression.
“90 percent of the folks seeing him believe he is pregnant,” Riedel said.
Nope. It’s just fat.

Riedel decided to put a notice on the window where he normally relaxes to explain things out about Fat Fred:

The truth is out, and the big cat is completely unaware.
“If Fat Fred could see the sign, he’d probably modify it to say ‘NOT on a diet,’” Riedel added.

Fred has started to lose weight owing to his owner’s assistance. He’d lost 25 pounds since his last weigh-in. That’s still a lot of weight, but Fred is generally in good shape.
His hearing, in particular.

Riedel added, “He is actually extremely spry and can hear a morsel drop from one end of the clinic and approach with incredible speed.”
Fred, on the other hand, isn’t expecting a child.
And now the rest of the world is aware of it.
