Man Opens An Asylum For Dogs That Were Abandoned In Their Old Age
Shep’s Place Elderly Dog Sanctuary provides a new home for those senior dogs who have been unable to find one. Here, they may live out their days in comfort, surrounded by affection.
Shep, a 10-year-old beagle and basset hound mix who was adopted by the sanctuary’s founder, Russell Clothier, after being abandoned to her destiny, inspired the name.
Shep enjoys her time at the sanctuary because it provides her with plenty of space, a plush sofa, and the opportunity to socialize with other dogs.
Russell stated, ”
“We want it to seem as warm and inviting as possible.” We want them to be comfortable…
Russell got the idea for this sanctuary for the pups after helping at numerous shelters and seeing how the older ones were seldom adopted.
This kind guy purchased a home for them so that they could live their final years in comfort, especially because most of the older canines are in shelters after being abandoned by their families.
Unfortunately, even though they have given these dogs their finest years, not everyone is willing to afford the costs of caring for them in their latter years.
Russell stated, ”
“You spent the first eight or 10 years of your life in a house, and now it’s gone. It makes us all happy to be able to offer them that sensation again and make their remaining years a great time for them.”
The house includes, among other things, pleasant and warm cages, an unique puppy shower, and a spacious patio where the puppies may run about freely.
This amazing initiative benefits not just the animals, but also the shelters by allowing fresh puppies to be welcomed.
The pups arrived to Shep’s Place Sanctuary on April 6, 2019 and are getting along swimmingly with the other senior animals.
