A kind individual in Southern California, United States, discovered a litter of three kittens next to a rubbish can. The kitties were really little and need immediate assistance and attention.
The kittens seemed to be approximately a week old at the time, and one of them was missing one of its legs. The individual who discovered them rushed them to an emergency clinic so that the children might receive proper medical care.
All three kittens were quite young and would require attention around the clock. As a result, the veterinary team decided to seek assistance for them at local rescue organizations.
Kitten Rescue Life founder Amanda Hodder stated:
“This is how we learned about your request for assistance.”
Petal, the calico cat, was missing part of her paw. The kitty had a significant infection in the wound that would be fatal if not treated immediately. One of his brothers was similarly infected at the umbilical cord region.
“We quickly rushed them to our cat veterinarian, who decided to operate on Petal’s leg straight away.”
Amanda sat outside in her car, waiting for news, while they did the procedure. After some time, he received a phone call from the vet, who told him that Petal was healing well after the treatment.
The lady continues:
Petal was just a week born and weighed only 5 ounces. For the procedure and anesthesia, the ideal age and weight are two pounds and two months. “Our vet did not make this choice lightly; she understood it was a matter of life and death for her.”
The small calico kitten shown amazing strength and soon sprang up on three legs, demanding attention from everyone around her. Her wound had entirely healed in a few days, and she was ready to leave her nest and play like a mischievous little girl.
«I went in and was able to provide him with a bottle. I knew at that moment that the worst was over for her and that she would be alright.
Petal is, of course, more fragile than her siblings, but that doesn’t stop her from doing everything she wants. She insists on doing whatever her brothers do, and she continues to build her muscles and improve her balance in order to keep running and exploring the world.
When the kitten gets a bit older, she will have a second limb operation to improve her quality of life. She is a daring and adventurous young lady who appears to have no boundaries.
«He has a courageous demeanor. She is goofy and energetic with her siblings, but she often snuggles on your chest or shoulder and likes a cuddle. He recently discovered his tail and enjoys chasing it! ”
