A Scared Rabbit Left In A Box Clings To His Favorite Teddy Bear

When someone noticed a box on the side of a road in London this week, they were frightened because they thought they saw something moving within it. The Good Samaritan went to investigate and was astounded to see a rabbit jumping about inside the box, clutching a teddy bear.

Surprised that someone could left such a lovely bunny alone in the cold, the Good Samaritan took the rabbit home and then phoned the RSPCA for assistance. Lisa Miller, an RSPCA animal collection worker, drove out to the house as soon as she received the call to retrieve the unfortunate rabbit, subsequently called Nigel.

In a news release, Miller remarked, “He looked so cute jumping around clutching his tiny teddy bear.” “He’s definitely bonded to the bear, therefore he must have had a home before this.”

Nigel was promptly examined by a veterinarian, but the rabbit appeared to be in good health, with no injuries or underlying problems. No one knows how long he was outside, but given how cold it was and how exposed he was, everyone was amazed he was still alive.

“No creature should be left out in the cold and unprotected in this condition,” Miller added. “Nigel was extremely fortunate to be discovered at the time he was.”

Nigel was taken in by an animal boarding facility in Kent, where he is still getting used to his surroundings. He was naturally terrified when he was initially rescued and disoriented after being abandoned, but thankfully, his teddy bear has helped him remain calm and adjust to his new temporary home.

Nigel’s teddy bear serves as a sort of comfort blanket for him…

… and he feels a little more at peace when he’s near it.

Nigel’s rescuers are grateful he has his teddy bear to help him cope after everything he’s gone through. He’ll stay at the boarding facility until he’s ready to go home with a permanent family — and, of course, his favorite teddy bear will accompany him.
