A Unusual Genetic Abnormality In A Golden Retriever Makes Him Extraordinarily Charming
Enzo is a sweet golden retriever that draws attention not just because he is attractive, but also because of a rare ailment known as ‘pigmented somatic cell mutation,’ which causes him to have a black mark on his face but has no effect on his health.
Enzo’s mother, Ella Castro, said:
“Golden retrievers have a genetic basis that favors black colouring, and they have a’modifier gene’ that turns them golden. Almost all dogs have this modifier, but Enzo’s DNA has a mistake in it, and the modifier gene in that portion of his face has been removed.
Golden retrievers, like Enzo, are known for their lovely and uniform coats, which adds to the uniqueness of this animal.
Enzo is also slightly larger than other dogs of his breed, but other than that, he is just like any other naughty dog.
She explained to Bored Panda:
“He enjoys greeting runners, bikers, and other dogs, and he appears to take offense if someone is too preoccupied to say hi.”
Enzo defines himself on Instagram as “cream of English with some freckles,” which is a fantastic description. Snuggle Expert, Nap Pro, Sock Thief, Walker, Kiss Giver
Enzo, for one, appears to have no idea that he has a disease that makes him “special,” but he appears to be fully content; he wants to play at all times and make friends everywhere he goes.
