Three Dogs Run Like The Wind To Reforest A Forest In Chile

Early in 2017, more than 1.4 million acres in Chile were destroyed by the deadliest wildfire season in country history, which also claimed roughly 1,500 houses and around 11 lives. To assist in putting out devastating flames, more than a dozen nations dispatched firefighting experts. The area was a burnt wasteland when the fires were finally put out.

A special crew was formed a few months later to assist in repairing the ecology. They have four legs and a propensity for tearing through the woods at top speed.

Das, Summer, and Olivia, three border collies, were given special backpacks packed with seeds and then launched on a mission, free to run around the burned-out woodlands.

Consequently, seeds flew out of their backpacks as they sprang and fled. It is hoped that these seeds would grow roots and sprout, gradually reviving the forest.

According to Francisca Torres, the three furry’s human mother, who also operates a dog-oriented environmental community called Pewos and trains assistance dogs, the task is serious, but for the dogs it’s an excuse to have fun.

They really adore it! They may run as quickly as they can and enjoy themselves on this cross-country road journey.

Francisca began working on this project with the dogs in March 2017 and visited the forest frequently for the following six months. Das, a six-year-old dog, and his two puppies, Summer and Olivia, are the leaders of the pack.
