Abandoned Dog Because His Family Moved He Had To Eat Stones To Survive

The unfortunate 11-year-old dog waited in his previous home for a year after Stewie’s former owners decided to leave and leave him behind, hoping one day they would return to get him. He had to eat stones to survive for a long time while he was afraid and hungry, but one day, someone decided to attempt to get him assistance.

A Los Angeles-based animal rescue organization called Hope for Paws learned about Stewie and went to his home to bring him out. He was hiding out in the rear of the California house when the crew arrived, so they tried to provide him with food.

The group felt that it would be better to hold off until he got back. They knew he wouldn’t be gone for long because of his strong attachment to that place and his unwavering belief that his family would return for him.

After some time, Stewie found his way back to his former residence, where the waiting rescuers were able to swiftly put a leash on him and ensure that the devoted dog was once and for all secure.

When rescuers eventually grabbed Stewie, he was still quite afraid, so they confined him in a cage to stop him from trying to flee. A number of the neighbors pitched in to aid in the rescue, and everyone was ecstatic to see Stewie off in search of the devoted home he so richly deserved.

When Stewie was taken to the clinic, they performed an x-ray and found that the poor dog had been eating pebbles because he had been so hungry throughout his time on the streets. In addition, he had several tumors on his body, all of which could be surgically removed because they fortunately turned out to be benign.

The gentle canine thanked his rescuers as he was examined and cleaned up, enjoying affection and care for the first time in a year. He appeared to understand that he was at last secure and would never need to resort to eating stones once more.

Stewie is currently living in a foster home with many other canine siblings to play with and family members who can give him the unrestricted amount of affection he has craved for so long.

Even though he may be getting on in years, he is the nicest dog ever and only wants to find a home where he will be adored indefinitely.
