Couple Returns From A Trip To Find Unusual Guest Lounging On Their Sofa

Barry Peterson and his wife came home to find an unusual guest had taken up residence on their couch. At first, they thought they were victims of a break in after finding their front window smashed in. But as soon as they got inside they saw the culprit “lounging on their sofa” – it was a wild turkey!

The turkey – who police later identified as Tom – was relaxing on their red sofa.

After they were unsuccessful in shooing the big bird out of their home themselves, the Petersons decided to call 911.

When asked to state the nature of their emergency Mrs. Peterson explained, “”I don’t know if I should call you or what, but we just came home from being gone – and a wild turkey flew through our front window and is now in our house.”

The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department soon appeared at their doorstep. And when one of the officers asked about the intruder, he summed up the situation as soon as he saw Tom and spoke to Barry about it.

“Oh there he is, sure. OK.”

“We’ve got two ways for him to go out and he just won’t go either way,” Barry explained.

“OK, you mind if I snap a picture or two as well?”

How could the officer resist? Tom was very obliging and gave him a smile.
