Little Pit Bull Finds Happiness Being Adopted By The Firefighter Who Saved Him

In October 2016, a three-month-old pit bull was rescued after being discovered chained to a tree in the rain. The puppy was infected with mange. Firefighters from the Sacramento Fire Department in Sacramento, California (United States), were moved by the situation and chose to transport the young kid to the station for treatment.

Mike Thawley and his crew picked him up and returned him to the fire station. They gave him the name Chunk, gave him a warm bath, and kept him warm. The fire department decided that transporting the little kid to a shelter where his injuries could be adequately treated was the best option.

Chunk had lost most of his fur due to mange, so firemen transported him to the Front Street Animal Shelter, where he would be treated and maybe adopted.

The refuge treated his scabies and provided him with garments to keep him warm until his hair came back, according to Shareably. His scabies was minor, but it would take some time for him to heal.

The firefighter, Mike Thawley, couldn’t stop thinking about Chunk and went back to the shelter the next day. Chunk hadn’t forgotten about him, as he welcomed him with such zeal and joy.

The fireman was very smitten with Chunk, and after taking his family to the shelter to meet him, they decided to adopt him. Mike, his wife Carla, and their three kids opted to look after Chunk while he was undergoing treatment for his non-contagious kind of mange.

The small pit bull was finally able to go home with Mike and his family after 4 months of waiting since his arrival at the shelter, and as soon as he finished his mange treatment.
