A Special Rescue Cat That Looks Like A Spider

After his mother, a three-legged wild cat, was found pregnant and trapped in a trap, Aries and his siblings were born at a remote shelter. When the kittens were born, it was bitterly cold, and the shelter’s heating system was inadequate, so they appealed to local rescue groups, hoping that someone would be willing to take them in. The mom was already anxious in the shelter since she was feral, and the shelter staff was concerned she wouldn’t be able to care for her pups unless she was moved to a warmer, calmer location.

“When we were inspecting the kittens, we discovered Aries’ legs,” Pitisci told The Dodo. “They were pressed up on his stomach fully.” It was obvious that the joints were not pointing in the right way. We knew he’d have a hard road ahead of him if he made it, but we had faith in him.”

Diana began to calm down when they were all placed into a quiet area, and she began to milk and care for her babies. Everyone was relieved, and after it appeared that all of the kittens would be well, the foster family’s focus switched to Aries’ twisted legs and what might be done about them.

“Unlike his brothers, Aries struggled to climb out of his playpen, and while his siblings were beginning to walk, he appeared to be scooting rather than walking,” Pitisci added. “A veterinarian advised that we use medical tape and gauge to tie his back legs. We were hoping that it would help him develop his gluteus muscles because it seemed to restrain his legs from splaying out.”

Despite their differences, his foster family adores him and has always gone out of their way to assist him overcome any obstacles that have come his way. Pitisci and her family were well aware that Aries would always be different, but they were determined to give him the greatest life possible — therefore, even after all of his siblings had been adopted, they chose to adopt Aries themselves so that they could be his constant protectors.

“We knew we adored Aries and would always go out of our way to make sure he had all he needed,” Pitisci added. “After that, we understood he’d already found his lifelong home with us.” Our family has gotten a lot of joy from adopting Aries.”

After working with Diana and earning her confidence, the family chose to adopt her as well, bringing their total to two special needs cats. Aries has had several hurdles as he has matured, including learning to walk and dealing with his twisted legs, but with the aid of his family, he appears to have no awareness that he is different from any other cat. Aries can’t leap and his walking is at best clumsy, but he always gives it his all and has yet to encounter a challenge he won’t accept.

Pitisci stated, “He will constantly attempt to accomplish anything he wants to do.” “He’ll give it his all if he sees something he wants to climb.” We decided to take him on outings with us and teach him new things to help him overcome some of his limits and experience life like other cats. He visits the park on a daily basis, where he enjoys going down the slide by himself and relaxing on the beach.”
