Snow Is Brought Inside By A Family So That An Indoor Cat Can Play In It

Dibs met his future father, Nate Troy, in a parking lot when he was barely 6 months old and lived as a stray on the streets. The kitten simply got into Troy’s car when he decided he wanted to go home with him. Despite the fact that Troy was allergic to cats, he knew he couldn’t say no to the adorable kitten.

“Nate has a terrible dander allergy, but he knew Dibs had picked him as his human,” Dibs’ mother, Sara Stromseth-Troy, told The Dodo.

They named him Dibs as he “called dibs” on them when he picked them to be his humans, and the cute moniker stuck.

When Dibs was originally adopted, his family allowed him to be an indoor/outdoor cat to help him acclimatize to life inside and manage his father’s allergies — and that’s how they discovered Dibs’ strong passion for snow.

“That first winter, Dibs spent hours frolicking, jumping, and enjoying the fun of his life outside in the snow,” Stromseth-Troy recalled. “It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.”

It became safer to keep Dibs inside all of the time as time went on, but his parents still wanted him to enjoy the snow, so they came up with the ideal solution: they decided to bring the snow inside to Dibs.

Troy picked up a shovelful of snow and carried it inside after a big snowstorm…

…and Dibs was giddy with delight as soon as he saw it.
