After His Mother Passed Away, The Male Orangutan Takes Care Of His Young

Cerah is a cute two-year-old orangutan that resides in the Denver Zoo in Colorado, USA. After her mother died abruptly the previous month, the tiny girl was left alone, and her father now looks after her, much to the amazement of the Berani Zoo employees.

Male orangutans do not take a direct part in rearing their young in the wild, according to the Orangutan Foundation International. Adult females are more responsive to them and form a strong attachment with them.

The attachment between a mother and her calf lasts for many years, but time spent with other orangutans is rather brief.

Despite this, Berani has taken on the task of raising her daughter as the greatest father she can be, and we can see from the wonderful photographs the zoo has published on her social media accounts that love develops unexpected connections.

The zookeepers, who were pleasantly delighted, shared the touching and cute tale on their Facebook page a few days ago, along with stunning images of this excellent father and his daughter girl.

In a statement, the zoo said:

“Seeing Berani take on the role of Mr. Mom is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and Cerah couldn’t have wished for a finer father. Berani is incredibly loving and protective of her, anticipating all of her need. When she sleeps, he carries her, consoles her, and even embraces her ».

Berani and Cerah have become inseparable, and this display of unconditional affection is incredibly uplifting. It also serves as a reminder of how gorgeous and lovely nature can be.
